INTERNSHIP

In a fort night, a lot can happen, yet not much has been done. My semester is almost over and I'm happy. Happy because I need a break. I have finished all my school work, yet I haven't done much blogging or personal design work. However, I'm more excited about my internship. I want to get more experience in the fashion industry and I am so eger to learn as much as possible.

I want to know: is coming up with a fashion article as easy as it looks? What goes on while planning a photoshoot? How long does it take to do a photoshoot for a magazine? Well, I will just have to wait until May to find out. Plus, I'm eger to get myself some more proffessional looking clothes. A great reason to change my wardrobe.

Have a good night everyone

THE MICHAEL KORS WAY

MICHAEL KORS

Recently, I have been feeling like my wardrobe has so many things and nothing at the same time. I'm bored of wearing the same thing over and over and I just don't have time to go shopping, nor to stitch myself something.

With attachment coming up, I feel even more unprepared (closet wise). I have to have a more professional look yet ensure that I don't lose my sense of style. Well, I have a different idea.

I'm going to go the Michael Kors way. For those who do not know who Michael Kors is, he is an American fashion designer and a judge on Project Runway. On one of the Project Runway episodes (when they bring back all the designers to recap on the season just before the finale), a viewer asked why he only wears the same thing, a pair of dark blue jeans, a black t-shirt and a black blazer. His answer did not make a lot of sense to me at the time, but now, I understand. While he was younger, he had the opportunity to wear every crazy and fashionable thing. At his age (currently 52), I think he felt it was time to leave it to the younger generation.

Well, I may still be young, but, I'm thinking about getting pieces that work together. Dark blue and black jean; black skirts; t-shirts and blazers. What more do you need?

Sometimes simplicity is all we need.

Have a blessed week.

iPad

Hello Everyone!
Recently (more like yesterday) an iPad 1 arrived home. Now, it is not mine but I am enjoying the gadget. I am actually writing this post from the iPad :-) I do not think I have ever understood why people have always made such a fuss about it, but now, I see why. It is so slender and light in weight. My first worry was about the keypad. I thought I wasn't going to type as fast as I do on a keyboard, but I actually think I type faster!

For those concerned with appearances and making sure your iPad looks as fabulous as you, there is nothing to worry about. There are fabulous iPad covers to choose from, including leopard print(which reminds me of Jersylicious-and yes, I watch it).

You can be fashionable with the iPads, but for me, it's about convenience. I'm so happy.

Have a technological leap year.

TEA BAGS VS. EYE BAGS

For many years now, I have been using tea bags to get rid of eye bags. And yes, it works. I usually do this once or twice and the eye bags are gone!! All you have to do is dip the tea bags (2) in cold water until they begin to colour the water. Spread the tea evenly within the bag while in water. while lying down, place them on your eyes and leave for 15 minutes.

That's all there is to it! No more eye bags. So get yourself some tea bags and treat yourself to some home therapy.

Have a blessed week.

The Grammys

The Grammys have come and gone with one lady stealing the spotlight. Adele. Adele won 6 awards. Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for 21; Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and  Best Short Form Music Video for ‘Rolling In The Deep’ and Best Pop Solo Performance for ‘Someone Like You’. Now I must say that I actually didn’t realise it was her quickly because of the blonde hair. It will have to grow on me but she looked lovely, especially the dress that she wore during her performance and as she received her awards.

There was a lot of fashion and I will only talk about my best and worst. My best dressed ladies of the night were many. I have to choose one  and it will be Paris Hilton in Basil Soda.

My other favourites were Fergie in Jean Paul Gaultier, Alicia Keys in Alexandre Vauthier and Kelly Rowland in Alberta Ferretti.

Then there was my best dressed couple, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen.

Then there was the best dressed gentleman. It was a hard choice between LL Cool J and Bruno Mars, But I must say, LL was different and that is why he is my favourite!!

Then there were the outrageous ones. Nicki Minaj in Versace and  Sasha Gradiva.

St. Valentine

Valentine’s day is fast approaching and questions arise about how to dress for the day. I realised that the singles are the ones who really have a dilemma. Should they dress for the day or not? My opinion… if you want to dress for the day, dress for the day.

I would advise anyone who would like to dress for the day, to wear the following colours: red, pink, white and/or black. The full red dress may be too much and especially since some have to go to the office. To avoid looking out of place at the office, pair a short red dress with a black blazer. It will take you from day to night with ease. If you want to down play the day, wear pink. A light shade of pink will help you celebrate the day without looking like you overthought it.

All in all, remember what the day is about. Love. Remember to tell the people you care about that you love them. If you love your brother, sister, parents or grandparents, tell them that you love them. If you love fashion, tell it how you feel. J

Remember to say ‘I love you’
